“offers a fantastic range of learning opportunities”
East Surrey College is a medium‐sized general Further Education College which incorporates the renowned Reigate School of Art Design & Media. The College has approximately 1,900 full-time Further Education students aged 16-18 studying from Entry to Level 3; in addition to approximately 4,000 part time adult students studying both qualification and leisure courses.
Alongside those courses the College also has a wide range of Apprenticeship programmes, over 100 Higher Education students, and approximately 600 School Link students studying at the College.
In February 2009, OFSTED judged the College to be Good with highlighted Outstanding features. The College has Matrix accreditation for its Advice and Guidance for students, Investors in People (Gold), Training Quality Standard and Positive about Disabled People kite marks; and the Frank Buttle award for its work in inspiring disadvantaged young people into further and higher education.
The College completed a major capital build programme in 2011 providing significant investment in buildings, resources and equipment which has enhanced facilities for all students.
The design of the new build at its main site, Gatton Point, provides bright, flexible teaching accommodation radiating off a large covered central atrium; as well as first class vocational learning resources, other major features of the build include a huge two storey learning resource centre for group and self‐study, an oval auditorium, sports hall and an impressively equipped fitness room.
A continuous programme of improvement of the teaching facilities at Gatton Point South has recently included a plumbing workshop, and The Hub, a bespoke accommodation for learners with high needs.
